January 2020: The Mid-Minnesota Development Commission (MMDC) recently hired Terry Smith for the role of Regional Transportation Coordinator to support the work of the Mid-Minnesota Regional Transportation Coordination Program (MMRTCC). “I am proud to be joining Eric Day and the exciting staff at the MMDC in the Regional Transportation Coordinator role. Having lived and worked in much of the MMDC’s Region 6, I hope to bring my knowledge and talents to good use” Smith said.
Terry is a native of Windom, graduating from the University of Minnesota in 1996, and has served as a Funeral Director in the Willmar area since 1999. Terry also served as a Cornea Procurement Technician for the U of MN Lions Eye Bank for over 20 years, receiving both the Helen Keller and Melvin Jones awards. Terry is an active member of the Willmar Noon Lions Club and has also served on the Willmar Community Center Board, as treasurer for the Widowed Persons Support Group, and as a past volunteer firefighter. He is also active with the Willmar Lakes Area Chamber. Terry and his wife Tanya have two children, Eli and Sophie. They enjoyed spending time at the lake and supporting each other in all their activities.
