The MMDC is a federally-designated Economic Development District. We collaborate with regional partners to identify projects that will support the accomplishment of goals outlined in our Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS). Once projects are identified, we can author or assist with grant applications to fund them. Our agency also participates in efforts aimed at reducing underlying barriers to workforce participation and economic well-being (e.g. housing, childcare, and broadband shortages).
In addition to providing economic development assistance to local units of government, the MMDC’s Economic Development Department serves new and existing businesses throughout our region by providing both technical assistance and financing.
