BUILDING INSPECTION SERVICES
MMDC provides counties, cities, organizations, and private businesses with the following inspection services through the availability of one Certified State Building Inspector.
- Hazardous Building Act inspections for several Region 6E communities.
- Handicapped accessibility inspection services
- Lead-based paint inspections and risk assessments for public and private organizations and businesses. (The primary reason for demand for this service is because of HUD requirements for such testing in housing units where their funds are involved.)
- Analysis of asbestos concerns for public and private organizations and businesses.
- Housing rehabilitation inspections, work write-ups and follow-up inspections for public and private organizations and communities operating a housing rehabilitation grant or loan program.
These building inspection services are primarily focused within Region 6E, however, MMDC has and does provide such services throughout southwestern and western Minnesota.
